Green moss everywhere

Coming from Carragh Lake today where I worked with Pauline Bewick, the artist, I stopped below Ballagh Oisin for some photos in this woodland. It is all green and just right for the upcoming St.Patricks day. Bring the tripod and good boots or wellies as the ground is very soft after the rain.

Skelligs+Wind+ Light = Happy Photographer

One of the things that I like most in photography are those moments of luck when everything turnes unexpected my way.
I suppose everybody dedicated photographer had many of those moments when the light came back suddenly and this special moment just presents itself.
The Photographer Henri Cartier Bresson used to call it the gift that you receive when you are ready to receive it.

Taking photos during strong winds needs you to set the camera for a fast shutterspeed to get some clear shots even on the tripod. Hold the camera face down between shots to prevent salt and spraygetting on  your front lens or use your lens cover. Stay at a safe distance from the sea and check the tide in advance.
Enjoy nature and photography.

Photowalk at Lough Currane

The current calm weather is perfect for a walk along our lakes and rivers in Kerry. You will see amazing reflections of places that are usually swept with a breeze or strong wind. The tripod can even stand in the water and a polarizer filter will allow you to control reflections. The photos above were taken at Waterville Lake or Lough Currane. The lake is famous for salmon and trout fishing and produces specimen fish every year.Fishing in Ireland
