Sheep near Horse Island Ballinskelligs heavy swell

There is still one house on Horse Island occupied during the summer. There is sheep on Horse Island as well. The photos were made behind Ballinskelligs pier. The heavy swell of the last days is battering the west coast of Ireland. The sheep kept silent. Lambing should start soon. Spring is in the air. When photographing sheep keep distance and stand still. At some stage they will come to you.

Two trees down at the river ramble walk

Eucalyptus tree down
The storm last week did a lot of damage all over Ireland. Here are some photos of one of my beloved photo workshop locations, Kells Bay Garden.
In a matter of an hour a lot of trees were knocked down and making it rather challenging to walk trough the park.
A lot of work in the next couple weeks to clear the ways.
However very soon the first flowers starting to appear. The Camelia tree is already in blossom. Go and see the power of nature and the beauty too.

Ancient Trees Reenroe Beach Ballinskelligs

Reenroe beach tree stump

4000 year old tree Ballinskelligs

The recent stormy weather shiftet the sand on Reenroe beach and exposed a group of ancient trees. Apperently the trees are 4000 years old. The light today encoureged me to take some detail photos of the roots and the grain of the sea washed grain.
The photos were taken with a 50 macro lens and a Canon 5d mkII
